Wow, you lost me at AH! I HATE texting. My 2 teenage daughters do it NON-STOP and my husband is almost as bad. They text us when they are out somewhere and I have asked them a thousand time to just CALL us instead. It is SO much quicker, at least for me, to just pick up the phone and get the conversation over with. UGH!!

BTW, I just had my 18 y/o daughter come in and read your post and she didn't understand most of it. That makes me feel a little better. :0) I have to admit that they usually use complete words and sentences when they text. I guess I have that to be thankful for.

I'm stopping by from SITS! You were above me in roll call so I wanted to come by and share a bit of comment lo♥e! I love your blog, especially the name! Cute!

I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Here here!
I agree, my fellow lover of words.
Text speak be damned.
- Immersion Therapy did not work.

I use a few text speak things, but nothing too difficult to decipher. My mom likes to make up imaginary things when she texts me...though I can tell they are fake because she has less of a grasp on text speak than I do!

I say we embrace our love of words. It's one thing to abbreviate because you are texting on a phone from a few years ago where the buttons and text functions are complicated and tiresome. It's another thing that it has morphed into actual language that people use in paragraphs and daily spoken language.
My husband cam home last week and was flabbergasted by the fact that he'd had 3 young women (late teens/early 20s) in his cab and they were speaking in text abbreviations. He had no idea what they were saying, despite being able to quote them. The only thing I could decipher from his story was the OMG.
I can't and probably will never bring myself to use text terms. I have a qwerty keyboard on my phone. So, I can text regular words just fine.
When I get a text from my 54 year old mother in law that says "C U in 15" I want to gag.
