22 things I’ve learned as a mother

I haven’t written here in over a week and I realize it’s because I just haven’t felt like making fun of anything. Nothing too dramatic has been going on- and that’s usually when I bust out the humor.

Sure, Bam Bam has had a cold, and my dogs have taken to puking all over the house the past week- but for the most part I feel… okay.

I feel content.

Puke and poop are what keep the world spinning over here at my house.

So, it was perfect timing that I came across this whole ” list of things I’ve learned as a mother”.

A woman I know, Gretchen, posted a list like this on her blog Cocktail Mom. She got it from another friend who posted it on her blog. And so the chain continues here.

If you’re thinking of making a list of your own, you may wanna make yours first, and then come back and read. But if you’re completely un-impressionable, read away!

I’ve been a mother a mere two years, and can’t wait to find out what I’ll learn over the next ten.

22 things I’ve learned:

  1. What boobs are really for.
  2. How to catch puke with my hands.
  3. The best smell ever is the top of a baby’s head.
  4. That I really CAN be a kid again.
  5. Boys love dirt.
  6. Dancing in the living room is just as fun as dancing in a club.
  7. Time- outs also work for adults.
  8. That I truly can be selfless.
  9. A lot of times, a cookie really does make things better.
  10. How to poop with a little person in the room with you.
  11. You can never have too many hugs.
  12. How to be afraid and proud at the same time.
  13. How to make a song out of anything and everything.
  14. If you’re gonna cry- don’t hold back.
  15. Laughing is more fun when it’s really, really loud.
  16. How to truly enjoy gift giving.
  17. My kid deserves a cape… and so do I.
  18. The mouth is a third hand.
  19. Always bring a snack.
  20. Water rocks!
  21. My hugs are magic.
  22. The meaning of life.

So, if you’re a parent (mommy OR daddy)- GO MAKE YOUR LIST!

Come back and link it up.

Stopping by from Ann’s Rants Motherhood link-up – I did my own lists a while back of things I wish I’d known and not known about being a Mom, I think poop features on every new Mom’s list somewhere :-)

Wishing you a wonderful Mothers Day weekend
