I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
This morning poet, activist, memoirist, and true renaissance woman Maya Angelou passed away in her home at the age of 86.

I just could not let the day go without holding some space here in memory…
In memory of a woman whose life was a gift to so many, and who uttered what has become one of my personal mantras:
I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.
Maya Angelou changed the world by standing in her own truth…
and never has such a warrior moved in such gentleness, “trailing wisps of glory”.
Be certain that you do not die without having done something wonderful for humanity.
Mission accomplished a hundred times over, lovely lady…
a hundred times over…
… and thank you.
She lived with both grace and fire.
She lived “phenomenally”.
