My Preschooler Is Going To Be A Rockstar.

My preschooler is going to be a rock star.  He is very clear about his decision.  My husband fully supports him on this, and is more than ready to live through our son.

So it’s a good thing we got this:

It’s the new Touch Magic Rockin’ Guitar from Leap Frog.  It’s his first step toward his future profession.  There are ten different songs to choose from, though my kid seems to only want to rock out to Itsy Bitsy Spider eleventy billion times in a row.  He adds percussion with the drum button, and hits the guitar solo button for some truly intense Itsy Bitsy jamming.

Touch Magic toys recognize all the little touches, swipes, and taps of little fingers.  This guitar even speeds up the song when he strums faster.  He seems to already know that becoming a rock star will take a lot of practice, because he plays all.the.time.  It’s already starting to pay off, though, because in a matter of hours his fans were already going wild:

I asked him what he liked about the guitar, but he was too busy playing. He just kept replying, “Look at me!” while strumming away.  I will tell you that what I like about it is that it responds to light touch.  I like that he doesn’t have to beat it to make noise – we are practicing “being gentle” at our house. You know, a gentle rockstar.

It looks like my husband will indeed have his chance to live through our oldest son.  I was really hoping he would grow up to be a ninja… but it seems I’ll have an easier time pushing the ten month old into that line of work.

PS – If you have a rockstar and would like a chance to win $500, you should enter this contest.  Submit a video of your little rocker using the Touch Magic Rockin Guitar, or if you don’t have one – a play guitar you’ve made yourself.  Videos will be judged on votes from viewers, creativity, and relevance to theme.
